A Custom Search is nice, because you can run it as many times as you want, and only have to configure it once. Every single option on the 'Search Data' form is saved as part of a custom search, and loading one again is as simple as clicking on it's name in the list of 'Saved Searches'.

In this section we will see how to create a custom search. Our search will match all customers, for all data, on all derogatory documents. Follow these steps:
The first thing you must do is click the 'Search Data' button (See Fig 1A) to bring up the Search Data form (See Fig 1B).

Now we'll go through setting each of the options. We said that we were going to do a search where "Our Search will match all customers, for all data, on all derogatory documents".

|
To do a derogatory search on customers only, we'd set the 'Type of Search' frame first. Check the 'Show Derogatory' button, and select the 'Match By Customer' option (See Fig 2A).

Now to set the range of time in our search, we select the 'Use All Data' option in the 'Choose Dates to Search' frame (See Fig 2B).
|
Also: While this search only involves setting a few things, you can also change what column you sort by in your report, or in your grid (search data results), using the 'Sort By' frame, and you can set whatever doc codes you want to apply to the search in the frame called 'Limit Report to Specific Doc Code'.
Once we've set all of our options, however we'd like them to be, we are at the final step. Now, we simply click the 'Save' button in the 'Saved Searches' frame (See Fig 3A), and type in the name of our new search (See Fig 3B). If you have a search you've already saved already selected, it will ask you if you want to overwrite it or make a new one before it asks you to name your search.

Once You click 'Save' in the 'Save As?' dialog box, your search will be saved, and will be added to the 'Saved Searches' list. Click it to load your search.
